LHU: Three Champions Power Wrestling to Strong Showing at Journeymen Classic
BETHLEHEM, PA – The Lock Haven men’s wrestling team dominated the field at Sunday’s Journeymen Collegiate Classic at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pa.
Out of six Bald Eagle wrestlers, three secured individual championships and three more finished as runners-up. For head coach Scott Moore and The Haven, it caps three straight days of competition after the Bald Eagles faced off against No. 1 Penn State and No. 8 NC State on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
At 149, Nick Stonecheck (Alpharetta, Ga./Buford High School) captured the D title behind a 3-0 day, including a 18-0 tech fall victory in the semifinal.
Kaiden Wagner (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) grabbed the E title at 149 and also capped a perfect 3-0 day in the final with a 4-0 win over West Point’s Mark Metz.
At 184, John Miller (Reading, Pa./Exeter) powered his was to the title winning three matches. Miller notched an impressive tech fall in the semifinal before bringing home the E title with a 20-8 major decision victory over Sacred Heart’s Owen Ayotta.
The trio of Kaleb Snodgrass (Van Buren, Ohio/Van Buren), Sean Logue (Philadelphia/Father Judge) and Tyler Dilley (Saint Mary’s, Pa./Saint Mary’s) all grabbed second-place finishes as the Bald Eagles rolled in Bethlehem.
At 197, Snodgrass was 3-1 and notched all three of his wins by pin. Logue went 2-1 at 133, and Dilley was also 3-1 with one tech fall and one pin.
The Road Ahead:
The Bald Eagles are back in action this weekend at the Navy Classic in Annapolis, Maryland. Action gets underway on Saturday (Nov. 19) at 10 a.m.
