MacIntyre likely next business manager for KCSD
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – It looks like the former Fiscal Operations Supervisor for the Keystone Central School District will be returning to the district later this month as its new business manager. The agenda for next week’s board voting session was reviewed by the board at its work session Thursday night. It includes the proposed hiring of Joni MacIntyre as the new business manager, effective Nov. 14, her pay a pro-rated $112,000 annually.
MacIntyre most recently has been the Chief Financial Officer for Centre County, hired for that position in March of this year after serving in a fiscal operations post with Keystone Central previously. If approved by the board next week, MacIntyre will replace Susan Blesh who resigned in September to accept a position in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State.
Jeff Wall has served as interim business manager since Blesh’s departure. He provided an update on the district’s latest fiscal year, the general fund balance at the end of June at $17 million.
The hour-long meeting heard board facilities committee chairman Jeff Johnston say the committee wants the proposed new Liberty-Curtin Elementary School in Blanchard to be a K-thru-4 configuration. The committee discussed and rejected consideration of a K-thru-6 set-up. Consultants and district officials determined the addition of two more grades would add $2.5 million more to the construction costs and cause additional staff costs.
Johnston said the project timeline is three years, into mid-2025 until it could be completed.
He also discussed an updated 10-year plan for the district. Short-term projects include improvements to the Robb Elementary School parking lot; the girls’ locker room at Bucktail High School; HVAC units at Mill Hall Elementary and Central Mountain High School; and the boiler unit at Mill Hall Elementary.
It was reported the next negotiating session with the district teachers’ union, the Association of Clinton County Educators, is scheduled for Nov. 14.
