Renovo area Ride for a Cure set for Saturday
From staff reports
RENOVO, PA – The mountains and valleys north and west of Renovo will be the site Saturday for the annual Ride for a Cure, a joint venture of the Bucktail Medical Center Relay for Life team and the Central Mountain ATV Association team.
The event is a guided ATV ride that provides a day of fun while raising funds for cancer research. As noted by the BMC Relay team, “There are many ways to participate and support the event. All are welcome.” Upwards of 200 ATVs are expected.
This popular ride begins at the Flaming Foliage Festival lot in Renovo and loops through the mountains to Cross Fork and back with a stop for food and activities at Quiet Oaks Campground in Cross Fork. A chicken BBQ dinner fresh off the grill awaits the returning riders. Breakfast will also be served as the Renovo Fire Hall.
The ride starts at 9 a.m. Saturday with groups departing every 30 minutes. The approximate 50-mile ATV ride honors cancer survivors and those who have lost their battle. The course traverses portions of the Whiskey Springs ATV Trail, as well as roads and land not normally open for ATV use.
