Yard sale time in the East End
ROTE, PA – The Penn State Blue-White Game is not the only big event in Nittany Valley this weekend. The Rote Community Yard Sale kicked off Friday and continues through Saturday in the Nittany Valley’s East end.
Sunny skies brought out heavy traffic in the Rote area as early as early Friday afternoon, many streets marked by police as “no parking” allowed during the two-day event. Organizers said there are no specific hours for the casual event.
The Old School Market in the former Lamar Township School is holding a third anniversary celebration as part of the event, until 5 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Vendors are to be set up on the adjacent fields surrounding the school.
Meanwhile the annual Penn State Blue-White Game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. Saturday kick-off up the valley at University Park; like the yard sales, that spring tradition is also free.
