Spring clean-up underway in Lock Haven

Tuesday kicked off a four-day clean-up campaign in Lock Haven. Notables involved in the effort, here at E. Main and Vesper streets, were, second from the left, City Community Life Director Kasey Campbell and Downtown Lock Haven Manager Kira Rosamilia.

LOCK HAVEN, PA – A four-day clean-up event is into its second day on Wednesday, part of a multi-agency clean-up ahead of Friday’s worldwide Earth Day. Participating organizations include Downtown Lock Haven Inc., the City of Lock Haven, Lock Haven University and Susquehanna Greenway.

The focus on Tuesday was Main and Church streets and nearly 150 pounds of litter pickup was the result. The Wednesday schedule is an evening clean-up, Glenn Road. Interested volunteers should meet at LHU’s Public Safety Building adjacent to Glenn Road at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The effort Thursday will involve DLH and city employees tending to three city parks. For Friday’s Earth Day, the city’s levee will be tended to by DLH and city workers, beginning at 10 a.m.

Downtown manager Kira Rosamilia said more volunteers are welcome and should contact the DLH office at 205 E. Main St. Litter from the cleanup is being placed in a dumpster in front of the Downtown office.
