Obituary

Dennis M. Caprio, 81 of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at his home.

Born March 10, 1940, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the Late Gerard and Margaret (Gravina) Caprio.

Dennis was a 1957 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.  After graduating he attended Temple University and Lock Haven State College, before serving in the United States Army and Army Reserve.

Dennis was employed at Piper Aircraft, C Cor Electronics, Clinton County Incubator Program, and served as the Clinton County Emergency Management Coordinator before taking the position of Director of the Clinton County 911 Center until his retirement in 2005.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish attending Saint Agnes Church, and a lifetime member of the Sons of Italy, serving as a board member and two-time president with a tenure of over 30 years.  Additionally, he was also a lifetime member of the Lock Haven Elks.  Dennis was actively involved in the Piper Aviation Museum Foundation, Lock Haven Kiwanians, Knights of Columbus, Clinton County Forty & Eight, Hand in Hand Fire Company, Citizens Hose Fire Company, Backwoods Bass Club, and The Lodge at Upper Hyner Heights.

He is survived by his son Louis A. Caprio, (Holly), and two grandsons along with his brother Gerard W. Caprio of Hammonton, NJ., and friend Belinda Corage of Lock Haven.

In addition to his parents and wife, Darlene J. (Dauberman) Caprio, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Caprio, Stephen Caprio, and sister M. Teresa Caprio.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 4 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 P.M. until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
