Leadership Clinton County learns about local history
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Leadership Clinton County participants recently had the opportunity to learn about the rich history in Clinton County by touring the Heisey House Museum and ice house in Lock Haven; the Clinton Central Model Railroad club which features their layout of model trains and railroad memorabilia; a 1941 vintage restored caboose; and the historical kiosk at the Castanea Train Station.
They heard from local historians Joby Topper, Rich Wykoff, and Ron Dremel who shared stories of famous people of Clinton County, the logging industry in the community, and the history of Piper Aviation, respectively.
Participants also had the chance to test their knowledge of Clinton County by working on a mapping exercise where they were able to learn about the various resources and tourist attractions that are in the county from Chamber/Tourism Director Julie Brennan.
