Municipal election one week out, Tuesday, Nov. 2
LOCK HAVEN, PA – It is one week away, Pennsylvania’s municipal election scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2 and Clinton County voters will note multiple local contests, many of them with no candidates listed, some with just one candidate on the ballot. These are particularly true in many of the county’s smaller municipalities.
Two county row office races are on the ballot but both will be walkovers for the incumbents: Current county treasurer Michelle Kunes and coroner Zach Hanna are both unopposed for new four-year terms.
There is a race for mayor of Renovo involving incumbent Mayor Tommy Tarantella Jr. (D) and Gene Bruno (R). There are also a number of statewide judicial contests on the ballot and multiple statewide judicial retention listings. There will be contested races for supervisor in a handful of county townships. Lock Haven will see a three-way contest for one 2-year term on city council. Candidates there are Democrat Brandon Ranck, Republican Jeff Brinker and independent Rick Conklin. Conklin, an incumbent council member, is also a candidate for a 4-year term on council, four to be elected. The others are incumbent Democrats Steve Stevenson, Barbara Masorti and Alexander DiCostanzo.
Four Keystone Central school board seats are on the ballot Unopposed for re-election are board president Tracy Smith from Woodward Township, Elisabeth Lynch from Mill Hall and Roger Elling from Lock Haven’s hill district.
There is no one on the ballot for the Renovo area seat currently represented by Eric Probert who did not seek re-election.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. The long range forecast calls for late showers with temperatures in the mid 50s. The voter registration deadline was Oct. 18.
