Congressman Thompson home after COVID-19 prognosis


WASHINGTON, D-C -15th District U.S. Congressman G-T Thompson (R-Howard Township) is reported at home after a visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday night, treated there for COVID-19 according to a statement from his office.

His office reported Thompson had been vaccinated against COVID but tested positive Friday after experiencing cold-like symptoms. His visit to Walter Reed was described as “out of an abundance of caution.”

According to his office the seven-term congressman plans to work from home virtually this week. The office release said he thanked medical personnel at the Capitol and Walter Reed for their concern and care. Thompson is 62 years of age and was first elected to Congress in 2008.
