HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Wednesday reported 5,058 new COVID-19 cases statewide.

The state said there are 2,891 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, up nine from Tuesday. Of those hospitalized 675 are in intensive care units, down seven from Tuesday; 286 reported on ventilators, down two from the previous day.

In Clinton County 16 new cases were reported on Wednesday, bringing the total to 4,462. Centre County saw an increase of 64 on Wednesday to 19,642, while Lycoming County increased by 79 to 14,873.

111 new deaths were reported by the state, the highest amount since mid-February; the death count in Clinton County remained at 71.
