Central Mountain Marching Band joins Bucktail Drumline for Friday night fun
FARWELL, PA – There was more than football under the Friday night lights at Dwyer Memorial Field for the kickoff to the 2021 football season.
While the Bucktail Buck football team gave its all on the field, in the stands the Bucktail Drumline was joined by the Central Mountain Marching Band. The two groups performed the National Anthem together and entertained the crowd with pep tunes.
Central Mountain percussion instructor Justin Mazzulla said, “It was a great experience to return to my Alma Mater and cheer on the Bucks with the Central Mountain Marching Band and the Bucktail Drumline. The Drumline students, cheerleaders, and fans were very welcoming. It shows that, despite being from opposite ends of the county and district, our students want to come together and support each other.”
Both ensembles, separated by geography but united by music, hope to have the opportunity to perform together again this fall season. Bucktail music teacher Christi Smith commented, “The combined appearance of the Bucktail Drumline and Central Mountain Marching Band is an example of everything that is great about the Keystone Central School District Music Program. The students exhibited excellent music-making skills, school pride, and the spirit of collaboration before, during, and after the game. I am so proud of their work and am looking forward to more opportunities to show the community what these students can do.”
