$328,600 awarded to 76th District volunteer fire and ambulance companies

Lock Haven’s Citizens Hose Company is due the largest amount, $14,450, among Clinton County emergency service providers, under a state grant program.

LOCK HAVEN, PA – State Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Centre/Clinton) announced Monday that 28 volunteer fire and ambulance companies throughout the 76th District have qualified to receive approximately $328,612 from a grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to our first responders that can never be repaid,” said Borowicz. “These dedicated and tireless volunteers put themselves in danger on a daily basis at no cost to the taxpayers. Again as a member of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, I am thankful to see this funding returning to our area in a way that benefits and helps to protect every person in the 76th District.”

All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue. Projects eligible for funding include recruitment and retention, construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, reduction of existing debt, or replacing lost proceeds due to COVID fundraising limitations.
