Bucktail Softball: Lady Buck beat goes on; 10-0 over Williamson
FARWELL, PA – So far, so good for the Bucktail softball team. Coach Mike Poorman’s squad has played three games to this point, and each has been a decisive, mercy-rule win. The most recent came Saturday afternoon, a 10-0, 6-innning victory over Williamson.
Bucktail junior Emma Poorman was masterful in the circle, tossing a complete game 2-hitter, striking out 9 while walking three. Poorman and freshman Makenzie Wagner have done the pitching through the first three games and have surrendered a total of three hits. Poorman Saturday was backed by a 13-hit Bucktail attack.
The Lady Bucks led from the outset, 1-0, after one, 3-0 after two and 9-0 after three and coasted home. Nine different players had hits, including two each from Haley Burrows, Makenzie Wagner (including a triple), Alexis Lowery and Julie Green. Contributing a double was Jordan Burrows and singles were added by Poorman, RaiLeigh Isaacs, Lily Francis and Kyla Probert.
Bucktail is now 3-0, Williamson 1-1. The Lady Bucks are to host St. John Neumann Tuesday, April 13 at 4:30 p.m. and travel to Muncy on Thursday, April 15, game time 4:30 p.m.
