LOCK HAVEN, PA – City council Monday night held its first meeting since the passing of former Mayor William Eisemann on March 26 and city officials used the occasion to pay tribute to the late mayor.
Current Mayor Joel Long called the late public servant “a role model…(that) so many people looked up to.” He called it “a sad thing to lose someone who meant so much to us.” Council member Rick Conklin said the late Mr. Eisemann “will live on in many of us; we were lucky to have him that long.” He was 96 years old at the time of his death.
City Manager Greg Wilson said the city has made a contribution to the city’s Ross Library in memory of the mayor on behalf of the city and its residents.
The late mayor had a long career in public service. A longtime teacher at Lock Haven High School, he served as Lock Haven Health Officer, then as Mayor from 1976 to 1983. Eisemann was a Clinton County Commissioner from 1988 to 1991.
A funeral service was held on March 31.
