Central Mountain, Bellefonte collide in D6 team dual tourney Tuesday match

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The match did not happen during a COVID-compacted “regular season,” but mid-state powers Central Mountain (11-1) and Bellefonte (13-0) will meet in a District 6 AAA team dual semifinal Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Wildcat gym.

This year the PIAA moved the state team dual tournament to after the individual state tourney conducted last Saturday. The winner of the CM – Bellefonte match will move into the district final at State College on Thursday. The Little Lions are the number one seed on the strength of winning the district individual tournament, Central Mountain second and Bellefonte third. Fourth place finisher Mifflin County elected not to compete in the team dual tourney.

The CM-Bellefonte match will feature four PIAA place-winners from last Saturday in Central Mountain’s Luke Simcox and Bellefonte’s Jude Swisher, Ethan Richner and Ethan Rossman.

The dual meet will be streamed on therecord-online. Coverage will start at 6:30 p.m. with interviews with Coach Biff Walizer and wrestlers. In-person attendance will be restricted.
