Commissioners Looking for Better 2021

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Commissioners finished up their public meeting work for the year 2020 on Friday, and expressed the hope that 2021 will be a better one for all of Clinton County.

All three, board chairman Miles Kessinger and fellow commissioners Angela Harding and Jeff Snyder, extended New Year’s wishes to the general public at their streamed meeting. Kessinger said the county is looking forward to “a better time in 2021,” expressing the wish for a return to “normalcy.”

Snyder said he was “not sorry to see 2020 becoming history” and pointed out that even with the economic problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the county was able to craft a “no tax increase” budget for 2021. He also said the county has been in touch with the state Health Department to ascertain when the COVID vaccine will be available for county residents.

Harding made a call for “normalcy” in the New Year and urged county residents to continue to observe the recommended mitigation efforts to control the pandemic’s spread.

The commissioners took care of some final items of business at their final 2020 meeting, including approving a tax anticipation note for 2021 with Jersey Shore State Bank, the rate at 0.58 percent. They also named Cyndi Walker to the county’s zoning hearing board for a three-year term.
