Ronald Lee Rupert – Obituary
Ronald Lee Rupert, 80, of Dunnstown passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
Born July 3, 1940 in Beech Creek Twp., he was a son of the late Joshua and Edna (Lyons) Rupert.
Ron was a 1959 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School.
Ron served in the National Guard from 1956 until 1959.
On May 12, 1952, he married his love, the former Lois E. Shoemaker, with who he shared 58 years of marriage.
Ron was employed for many years at Champion Parts and then at Smith Furniture until his retirement.
He was a lifetime member of Dunnstown Fire Company as well as a member of the Clinton County Volunteer Firemen’s Association and Central District Volunteer Firemen’s Association.
Ron enjoyed hunting and going to camp at Rock Cabin Hunting Club, where he was a member.
He also cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Lois E. Rupert, he is survived by two children, Michael Rupert of Bellefonte and Sandra (Greg) Crays of Lock Haven; his sister, Mary Lou (Laird) Confer of Julian; a granddaughter, Taren (Andy) Kitchen of Lock Haven; two great grandchildren, Madison and Vaughn Kitchen; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher A. Crays and a brother, Robert Rupert.
Private services will be held at the convenience of his family. Burial will be at Dunnstown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Ron’s name may be made to Dunnstown Fire Company through the funeral home.
