County Announces Grant Money for Restaurants

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Commissioners have announced a second round of federal CARES grant money, this one for restaurants within the county.

Commissioner Angela Harding made the announcement at the commissioners’ virtual meeting Thursday. She said some $50,000 is available to be distributed to qualifying eating establishments anywhere within the county. Harding described restaurants as “one of the industries hurting the most” from the COVID-19 pandemic.

County planning department grants administrator Kari Kepler said preference will be given to eating establishments which did not receive funding in a CARES money distribution earlier this year.

Both said the program will be a quick turn-around, with the application period from 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7 through 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14. Successful recipients must spend the money by the end of this month.

Harding said the application is available on the county website. Eligible expenses can be found with the application information.

She said the county is also looking at some form of additional assistance in the first quarter of next year.
