West Branch Soccer Gets New Roof, Gives out Thanks
WOODWARD TOWNSHIP, PA – The West Branch Soccer Club, thanks to a grant from the Clinton County Community Foundation, has a new roof on the large pavilion at the West Branch Soccer Complex in Woodward Township. The WBSC is a private soccer club. The club owns 14 acres which provide plenty of space for the WBSC teams and the Lock Haven AYSO teams in the spring and fall seasons.
The CCCF grant was for $4,000. This was less than the bid put forth by the low bidder, WB4 Construction. But Wayne Bower of WB4 agreed to do the job for $4,000.
Not only did WB4 put a new roof on the pavilion but the company put new roofs on the WBSC tractor shed and the equipment shed. Wayne Bower and WB4 also donated the metal roofing for the equipment shed. Yuri Svec of Svec Construction donated shingles for the tractor shed.
The WBSC, in a release announcing the improvements, thanked Wayne Bower and Yuri Svec for their donations; also, a thank you to Svec, a former All-State soccer player at Lock Haven High School, for meeting with Ashley Swineford, manager at Lowe’s, to ask for a discount on the shingles for the pavilion. Lowe’s sold the shingles to the WBSC far below cost. The soccer club also thanked Swineford for her support of the organization.
