Lock Haven’s Church Street Beautification Extended into
LOCK HAVEN – With winter coming on, Lock Haven City Council has extended the completion date for its E. Church St. streetscape project into spring.
Council Monday night extended the work deadline to May of next year. City public works director Tony Stopper said the contractor, M and B Services, LLC of Clarion, had requested the extension, citing a delay in getting seasonal items to complete the million dollar project.
Stopper indicated most of the beautification work will be finished by year’s end but trees along Church Street won’t be put in until the spring. The work began in August and runs from Bellefonte Avenue to Grove Street.
Overall work on the project includes excavation, new cement concrete sidewalk, brick sidewalk, curbing, inlet and pipe replacement, paving, and miscellaneous items. The improvements will be similar to those done in previous years on E. Main Street, Bellefonte Avenue and E. Water Street.
