Lock Haven City Council Goes to LHU for Budget Sessions


LOCK HAVEN, PA – City Manager Greg Wilson has released details on how the city plans to conduct its public sessions leading towards a 2021 budget.

The meeting/hearings will be held in Raub Hall on the Lock Haven University campus, with COVID-19 restrictions in effect. In-room attendance will be limited to 15 residents at one time. The first such session will be held on Monday, Nov. 2.

The formal announcement came through a public notice from the city:

PUBLIC NOTICE:

The City Council of the Lock Haven will hold its regular public meetings on the following dates in order to consider the adoption of the 2021 fiscal year budget:

• Monday, Nov 2: First reading of the ordinances for budget adoption and setting the real estate millage rate for the 2021 calendar year

• Monday, Nov 9: First public hearing on the proposed 2021 budget

• Monday, Nov 16: Second public hearing on the proposed 2021 budget

• Monday, Nov 23: Third public hearing on the proposed 2021 budget

All meetings will be held at 7 o’clock p.m. in room 425 of Raub Hall on the campus of Lock Haven University. Members of the public interested in attending should review the university COVID-19 mitigation rules including the mandatory use of facemasks on campus and social distancing requirements which can be found on the LHU website in pdf form titled “Fall 2020 Reopen Campus Plan” at www.lockhaven.edu/FallReturn/index.html

A maximum of 15 residents may be in the room at one time, and all visitors and participants must wear masks at all times and maintain at least 6 feet social distancing. Those who wish to make requests or presentation to Council’s for appropriations from the 2021 budget are requested to appoint a spokesperson to attend the meeting on behalf of your group. A reasonable accommodation will be made for those with a medical condition that disables them from attending in person. The meetings will also be streamed on the city’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Council will meet on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 7 o’clock p.m. by video conference to consider the final adoption of the 2021 budget and real estate tax ordinances. That meeting will also be streamed on the city’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
