Sealcoat Due for Lock Haven’s Levee Walkway

LOCK HAVEN – Starting next week, there will be an occasional interruption for the many who stroll the city’s Clinger Walkway overlooking the Susquehanna River. A new walkway sealant will be applied.

The city had awarded a bid to perform repairs and sealcoat the walking path on the levee to M&M Asphalt of Williamsport in March. With the restrictions due to COVID-19 the project had been pushed back until after Labor Day.

Starting Monday, Sept. 14, M&M Asphalt will be performing the work for a duration of two weeks. The city said there will be temporary closures to the levee’s Clinger Walkway as repairs progress. Pedestrians are reminded to be cautious while on the levee walkway and to not enter an active work zone. The contractor will need the entire width of the walking path to perform its work.

During the seal-coating process the levee will be cleaned of debris and shut down at the ramps and access areas to provide for public safety during construction. Once the process is complete the contractor will reopen the ramps and pedestrian access.
