Fire Destroys Empty Coudersport Pike Residence
DUNNSTOWN – A pre-dawn Friday fire gutted an empty residence and an adjacent garage along the Coudersport Pike. The blaze brought a response from a dozen emergency responders.
A neighbor residing to the rear of the gutted building said the two-story frame home is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lingle who live in an adjacent structure near the entrance to the Woodward Elementary School. The neighbor said her family members were rousted from their beds when the blaze was discovered.
Heat from the fire damaged outer walls at both that neighbor’s home and the adjacent Lingle residence.
Fire officials were not immediately available to provide information on the fire’s cause. There were no initial reports of injuries.
Firemen from the Dunnstown Fire Company and additional fire companies from Jersey Shore to Beech Creek to Nittany Valley, twelve in all, responded, along with Lock Haven EMS, Clinton County Department of Emergency Services and the Salvation Army.
