LOCK HAVEN – The Roxy Theater wants movie-goers to know its Main Street theater, while it will be shut down after its shows this Friday, will be reopening, hopefully later in the year.

A Roxy spokesperson said on Thursday that some in the public fear the Roxy is shuttered for good, based on an earlier Roxy social media post and a story on therecord-onoline announcing a temporary closure. But both the Facebook post and the story said the shutdown would be for “an undetermined amount of time” and the theater would be back in operation “ASAP.”

The Tuesday announcement had blamed the lack of new movies and seating restrictions for the closure. The spokesperson on Thursday said the Roxy is not shuttering its doors and anticipates there will be new movies on the market to show locally by November.
