Santana Tribute Band Inca at LH Floating Stage Sunday


LOCK HAVEN – Inca, a Santana tribute band well received at the LH Jams Festival last August, returns to Lock Haven Sunday, for a 6:30 p.m. show at the Corman Amphitheater floating stage, the latest presentation in the City’s Summer Concert Series..

Led by Edgardo Cintron, this group of excellent seasoned musicians pays honor to one of the most influential guitarist the music industry and world has ever known, Carlos Santana.

Starting 40 years ago in Woodstock and 8 Grammy’s later Carlos Santana has placed Latin rock, Latin funk and Latin jazz on the forefront of the music industry.

His Music with songs like, “Oye Como V,” “Evil Ways,” “Black Magic Woman” and currently “Smooth” and “Maria Maria” are capturing audiences young and old and still creating a stir in the music industry today.

Percussionist Edgardo Cintron is a second-generation Puerto Rican and a second generation musician, known as much for his affable personality and generous spirit as for his tasty musicianship. Born on August 28th, 1958 in Fort Riley, Kansas, he attributes his musical influences to his Father, Pablo, who played guitar in the U.S. military band and also to Charlie Parker, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana and Tito Puente. By the age of five, Edgardo was studying French horn and guitar, and later, the percussion, all under his father’s direction.

Moving the Family to the East Coast in 1962, the elder Cintron formed his own band, Los Tropicales. By age twelve, Edgardo had the percussion chair. He traveled up and down the coast with the band, playing at hotels and Latin dances, working with such notable musicians as Yomo Toro and Maso Rivera.

After serving in the Army, Edgardo formed his own twelve-piece band, the Tiempo Noventa Orchestra, playing numerous festivals, and releasing three CDs. In addition to Inca, Edgardo fronts the Latin pop orchestra, “Cintron”. Their latest recoding “CINTRON LIVE MANTECA can be purchased at all major music stores.

While the committee is excited to offer these free concerts this summer, residents should remain vigilant to the threat of COVID-19 which has claimed the lives of more than 100,000 Americans and more than 6,000 Pennsylvanians including three in Clinton County. In order to successfully continue the summer concert series, residents and guests are to follow CDC and DOH guidelines in order to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 including social distancing between non-household members while attending the concert, wearing masks, and sanitizing hands frequently. To that end, the city will provide hand-washing stations at each of the summer concerts, and seating at the amphitheater will be limited to 250 attendees. Anyone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or is included in a higher risk population are encouraged to keep their health and the health of their fellow residents as their primary interest and not attend.
