Lock Haven Police Issue Fireworks Reminder
LOCK HAVEN – With the Fourth of July fast approaching, city police have issued a reminder relative to the legal discharge of fireworks within the city boundaries:
In an effort to keep the community safe during the upcoming holiday weekend, Lock Haven City Police Department would like to remind residents of the Pennsylvania Fireworks Law Act 43 of 2017 regarding the use of fireworks:
1. Consumer Fireworks cannot be ignited or discharged on a public or private property without express permission of the property owner.
2. Consumer Fireworks cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building.
3. Consumer Fireworks cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building.
4. Consumer Fireworks cannot be discharged within 150 feet or an occupied structure, whether or not a person is actually present.
5. Consumer Fireworks cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance or another drug.
Under Lock Haven City Ordinance it is not permissible to discharge firecrackers or fireworks on the levee or in City parks.
