Ross Library to Open Library Floor to Patrons

LOCK HAVEN – Annie Halenbake Ross Library announced on Wednesday it is “pleased” to reopen its stacks to the public as of Friday, June 19. Patrons will be welcome to browse materials and use computers. Limited genealogy and history research will be available for patrons as well. The library will continue offering free wifi on the patio, free wireless printing from patron devices (first 10 pages), “Library-To-Go” pickup service and Books By Mail.

Patrons are encouraged to continue using the “Library-To-Go” pickup service, which can be accessed either by phoning the library (570-748-3321 for adults and 570-748-3484 for children) or using their web request form found at www.rosslibrary.org. Materials can be selected by title, by genre, or by age group.

Patrons in high risk groups are encouraged to visit Saturday mornings from 10-11 a.m., or to use the Books By Mail program, which has been opened to all high risk patrons. Additionally, eBooks and eAudio books continue to be available via Overdrive.

For safety reasons, patrons will be required to wear masks in the building unless they are under the age of two, or have a condition. Patrons with conditions that prevent wearing face coverings should notify staff, and alternate services can be provided to the patron outside the building. Social distancing will also be required. The library asks that patrons limit browsing time and computer use inside the building. Thirty minutes per hour will be allowed for computer use. Newspapers and magazines are unavailable at this time.

Precautions will be in place to ensure public safety, such as the requiring of masks for those over 2 years of age, the practicing of social distancing, and frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces by staff. The library thanks all of its patrons for their understanding these last few months, and their continued patience as services return.

Questions can be addressed to Executive Director Tammy Garrison at ross1@rosslibrary.org or at 570-748-3321. The library looks forward to your visit!
