Lock Haven’s E. Church Street Beautification Coming
LOCK HAVEN – At some point this year a several block section of E. Church Street is scheduled for beautification. The latest in the city’s Streetscape program will run from the Civil War Monument to Grove Street.
The improvements will be similar to those done in previous years on E. Main Street, Bellefonte Avenue and E. Water Street. They will include brick sidewalks, ADA ramp updates and streetlight replacement.
It was announced at City Council’s Monday night meeting that M & B Services from Clarion was the low bidder in the amount of $1,028,071. The EADS Group, the design engineer, is also the construction inspector, the amount $103,065. The bulk of the project is PennDOT funded, $1 million in a PennDOT grant, plus $131,136 in Liquid Fuels funding.
City Public Works Director Tony Stopper said he is in contact with PennDOT to determine a starting date for later this year. The Church Street work will continue when future funding is available, Stopper indicated, the leg from Grove Street eastward to beyond Jay Street.
