Time to Tee It Up at Belles Springs

MACKEYVILLE – The Belles Springs Golf Course will be opening Friday morning, after a state go-ahead for golf course reopenings was given on Monday of this week. The 18-hole public facility in Lamar Township had opened for the season on March 13, but on March 17 came word of the state-imposed, coronavirus-related shutdown.

Head pro Judd Caruso said that final details on complying with the state directive relative to safety were due from the state PGA on Tuesday and tee times should be accepted as of Wednesday of this week.

There has been no word so far on opening plans from Clinton County’s second golf course, the Clinton Country Club near Mill Hall. Calls to the pro shop there on Tuesday went unanswered.
