Lucky 7 Travel Plaza Well Underway
LOCK HAVEN – Construction is well underway for a planned travel stop in Lock Haven. Passersby on Paul Mack Boulevard can watch the progress on the Lucky 7 Travel Plaza to be located just off the Walnut Street exit of the Boulevard. The new facility is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2020.
The building housing the former L.W. Peters Disposal Service at the site’s northeast corner went down this week as part of the $6 million project.
Sharanjit “Sonny” Singh plans to develop a convenience store and gas station, near the new truck entrance to First Quality Tissue. Singh will also have a Wayback Burgers Franchise at the site and a slot machine/casino area (five slots machines have been approved by the state). 24 jobs are expected to be created over the next three years.
Singh owns and operates the Bald Eagle Truck Stop in McElhattan, where 15 people are employed. As announced earlier this year, the new Lock Haven plaza will be over 10,000 square feet, about double the size of the Wayne Township facility. The project is being built on property formerly owned by Lucky 7 Meats and L.W. Peters Disposal Service which earlier this month relocated its operations to Pennsylvania Avenue in Mill Hall.
