Tidlow Dam Repairs Finishing Up
LOCK HAVEN – A Clearfield County contractor is finishing up a $393,000 restoration/repair project on the Tidlow Dam off Grant Street in the city.
A spokesman for the project consulting engineer told therecord-online Thursday that two damaged slabs near the Lock Haven side of the Susquehanna River had to be replaced; also that some repair work was done, including calking of slab joints.
The improvements began in late September, believed to be the first major repairs since the 1990s.
Greenland Construction of Clearfield is the project contractor. The engineering consultant said the work could be completed on Thursday of this week, Monday of next week at the latest. Greenland employees Thursday were removing the coffer dam which had been constructed on the Woodward Township side of the river so repairs could be completed.
