Almost Done…
LOCK HAVEN – A massive repaving project on state Route 150 through four municipalities is almost done.
A crew from project contractor HRI, Inc. of State College is finishing up the Lock Haven segment of the repaving this week. An onsite supervisor told therecord-online that barring any weather delays, work should be finished on Wednesday.
The contractor started the repaving in Mill Hall borough nearly two weeks ago and the improvement has moved through Bald Eagle Township and Flemington borough and now, with continuing night work, in Lock Haven.
Lock Haven City Council discussed the project briefly at its meeting Monday night. Council member Rick Conklin called the effort “one of the best organized” projects he has seen.
City Manager Greg Wilson said there were “some issues” relative to the repaving that city public works director Tony Stopper would be going over with the HRI firm. It was also brought up at the council meeting that parking stall lines, recently repainted by city crews, had to be removed so the repaving could move forward. Wilson said PennDOT had not advised the city the Main Street work was going to be done before the lines had been repainted.
Wilson also reported that the final leg of the street resurfacing, much of E. Church Street, will be put off until next year, part of the city Streetscapes program which will see new and related improvements during warm weather months in 2020.
