Letter to the Editor -Collins Family Thank-you

To the Editor:

The family of SOC David M. Collins would like to express their thanks to friends and family for the many letters, cards, and donations as well as personal outreach we received following his passing. It is such a comfort to know that David touched so many lives in his own special way.

The community outpouring of support has been tremendous and especially apparent during the charity basketball game and the Celebration of Life for David. We want to thank the Central Mountain School district for the use of the middle school gymnasium and custodial services. In addition, a special thank you to Joe Waltz for coordinating the efforts of the basketball game. Also, thanks to the referees, players and other volunteers that helped with this event.

To Roxanne Embick, thank you for volunteering to deejay both occasions with great music — David was dancing and singing with us.

To the Sons of Italy Lodge, thank you for hosting the Celebration event and providing a venue where everyone could share their memories of David.

Donations received for the Children of David M. Collins Memorial Fund were beyond belief. Although we cannot name you personally, thank you for your contributions.

We can’t say thank you enough for the community’s generosity and kindness as our families cope with this tremendous loss.
