Regatta No. 48 a Record-Setter
LOCK HAVEN— The 48th edition of the Lock Haven Area Jaycees Labor Day Regatta is in the books. The three and a half day run ended Monday Labor Day and by Tuesday evening the Water Street midway was almost back to normal, firemen from Lock Haven hosing down the street.
Event officials said the three days of boat racing on the west branch of the Susquehanna River attracted more than 500 boats, a Regatta record, from all over the country. The Regatta is the Jaycees’ largest fundraiser of the year and is one of the bigger Jaycee events in the state and nation. All the money raised will be funneled back into the community through various activities and donations throughout the year.
