Terrapin Pennsylvania Enters Marijuana Flower Market

SOUTH AVIS — Terrapin Pennsylvania on Friday announced it will be one of the first to distribute medical marijuana flower in Pennsylvania. According to a company release, setting competitive market prices will ensure that patients have access to critical medication.

The Clinton County grower/processor was selected as only a handful of distributors in the newly-expanded medical program, which now includes flower sales. Until now, medical marijuana patients in the Keystone State were only allowed to purchase processed marijuana. Flower sales were prohibited.

“It’s important to remain cognizant of the fact that this medical marijuana program in Pennsylvania was predicated on a mission to supply patients with necessary treatment options,” said Chris Woods, founder and owner of Terrapin Pennsylvania. “We want to ensure that the focus remains on patients. Setting a competitive price point for high-quality medicine is an important step in guaranteeing patients access.”

The Department of Health recently announced that it is allowing sales of cannabis flower to begin on Aug. 1, as part of an expanded Medical Marijuana Program. Patients will be allowed to purchase cannabis flower to be vaporized. The company said because of Terrapin Pennsylvania’s record of corporate responsibility and efficient cultivation practices, state officials felt the company was best suited to lead the state’s expanded program.

Terrapin said a key factor in ensuring the stability and success of the Medical Marijuana Program is guaranteeing affordable prices while still producing high-quality products. Terrapin Care Station, the parent company of Terrapin Pennsylvania, has been a cannabis provider for nearly 10 years in Colorado, with experience in making the best products at the lowest prices.

Terrapin Pennsylvania said it has maintained and improved these cultivation and processing practices in the Keystone State; affordable prices mean patients don’t have to grapple with the black market, and instead can find safe access to tested products.

While the retail side will set prices for consumers, Terrapin Pennsylvania expects that its wholesale price points will be low enough to offer consumers access to an eighth of cannabis flower for as low as $40, and a gram of flower for as low as $10. These prices are comparable to other markets.

“The Terrapin brand has always been focused on access,” Woods added. “In Pennsylvania, where the Medical Marijuana Program is still so new, it’s even more important to guarantee patient access. Terrapin Pennsylvania is thrilled to be one of the first in the Keystone State to set a responsible example for providing critical medical cannabis flower to patients who need it the most.”
