SHIPPENSBURG – Central Mountain’s Amelia McCloy placed 5th in High Jump and Sadie McCaleb placed 16th in javelin at the PIAA AAA State Track and Field meet this past weekend.

McCloy’s medal finish at states is believed to be the first in a decade when Kristen Brandt placed for the Lady Wildcats.

“We are so extremely proud of both of them for working so hard the whole season, they’re great athletes to coach,” said CM head coach Katherine Bidwell, “Sadie is moving on to play soccer and throw javelin at the Naval Academy where she’ll be breaking school records for years to come.”

“Amelia will be back for two more seasons and have a lot of great experience under her belt,” Bidwell said of her underclassman jumper.

“We want to thank our fantastic Athletic Trainers Elizabeth Everts and Matt Pyle for keeping everyone healthy and being a positive part of our team,” Bidwell shared about the Central Mountain training staff, “They go far above and beyond what is expected of them.”

Bidwell went on to say, “We also would like to thank CMHS administration for all the support they’ve given both us as coaches and our athletes throughout the season.”
