LHU Softball Selected for NCAA Tournament, Will Host Regional
INDIANAPOLIS – The Lock Haven University softball team is headed back to the NCAA Tournament as the Bald Eagles were selected Monday for the 2018 NCAA Division II Softball Championships. The Bald Eagles were tabbed as the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic Region and will host the Atlantic 1 Regional set for Thursday, May 10 – Saturday, May 12.
No. 4 seed Lock Haven will take on No. 5 seed Shepherd on Thursday (May 10) at 3:30 p.m. following a game between top-seed West Chester and No. 8 seed Chowan at 1 p.m.
In Atlantic 2 Regional action – at West Virginia Wesleyan – No. 2 seed West Virginia Wesleyan will take on No. 7 seed West Virginia State and No. 3 seed Gannon will take on No. 6 seed Seton Hill.
In all 64 teams were selected for the 2018 NCAA DII Softball Tournament. The tournament opens with four teams playing at 16 different regional sites in a double-elimination format. The winners of each of the 16 regional tournaments advance to Super Regionals – set for May 17-18 – and the College World Series is set for May 24-28 at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia.
