QUAKERTOWN – The Lock Haven University softball team (36-12) fell to West Chester (39-12) 6-1 today in an elimination game, ending the Bald Eagles 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament run.

Becca Caputo (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore) went 2 for 4 at the plate and Bekah Slattery (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone) struck out three as the duo did all it could to spark the Bald Eagles effort in their second game of the day today.
In the bottom of the third inning, West Chester took a 3-0 lead after Emily Maseth hit a three-run home run to left field.
In the bottom of the sixth, WCU made it 6-0 with the game’s second three-run homer. This time it came from Alyssa Herion.
With one out in the seventh, Lock Haven looked to rally and Olivia Hall (Hustontown, Pa./Forbes Road) scored from second on an error, but that was all the Bald Eagles could muster up offensively and West Chester held strong on the way to the win.
