‘Cats Hand Shik 3-2 Loss

tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain picked two wins in singles action and spit the doubles matches for a 3-2 win over visiting Shikellamy in boys’ tennis action on Monday.

The win puts the Wildcats at one game over .500 for the season at 6-5.

CM’s Matt Schubach defeated Shik’s Mason Brubaker 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Raahi Cahpla got past the Brave’s Cameron Crowley, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Shik picked up a win at No. 3 singles when Thayne Hummel used a tie-breaker effort to take down the ‘Cat’s, Morgan Talbot, 6-7, 6-3, 10-8.

Micah Brinker and Gavyn Walker picked up Central Mountain’s last win of the day by defeating the Braves, Elijah Taylor and Darell Lyles, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Then Shikellamy responded with another win at No. 2 doubles when Ulysses Mercado and Miles Mogish took down Kaden Powers and Ujjval Adroja, 6-1, 6-3.

Next up for the Wildcats is a road trip to Milton, tomorrow Tuesday, April 24, 2018.
