Dershem, Knepp Go Yard in 4-1 Win over ‘Shore
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – In another tightly contested game, Central Mountain (12-5, 9-1) bunched up all their runs in the fourth inning to outpace PHAC rival, Jersey Shore (5-8, 4-3) 4-1.
The Lady Wildcats offensive onslaught was fueled by back-to-Back homers in that fourth inning. The first was a 3-run dinger from Autumn Dershem followed by a solo slam from Madison Knepp. The inning opened with a base hit from Skylar Smith and Morgan Wetzel reached base on a fielder’s choice to set the table.
Autumn Dershem also had a base hit in the game as did Josie Dershem, Maegan Miller and Cassidy Brush.
Caitlyn Brush was her usual steady self in the circle leading the defense allowing only 4 hits and 1 walk in the effort.
‘Shore’s lone run came in the fifth inning when Montana Ohl scored on a fielder’s choice by Daytona Wentzel.
CM will nest see action on the road at Bellefonte on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
