Police Arrest Sporny, Winkleman Still at Large

RENOVO — State police are calling it a “fugitive capture,” yesterday’s arrest of a borough woman wanted for allegedly selling drugs in the Renovo area.
The woman, Toni Sporny, was taken into custody at her 5th St. home, two and a half weeks after Sporney and her companion Josh Winkleman were able to elude an early morning police raid at their home at the corner of Huron Ave. and 5th St. Winkleman, wanted in last October’s Renovo Santander Bank robbery, remains at large.
According to a report from investigating state trooper Andrew Mincer, state police had received reports that Sporney had been seen in the Renovo area. Mincer and fellow trooper John Knepp responded and said Sporny was taken into custody at her residence “without further incident.”
Sporney was arraigned overnight and remains in custody in lieu of $150,000 bail.
She was wanted for possession with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, all felony charges. Sporny was taken to the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
Meanwhile there has been no word on the whereabouts of Winkleman who, with Sporny, was not home when police forced their way into their residence at 164 5th St. on May 2. The authorities had been seeking to serve arrest warrants on Sporny on drug trafficking charges and Winkleman on the robbery dating to Oct. 29 of last year.
