Principles over Politics
To the Editor:
It’s time to put principles over politics.
On February 10, 2016, The Pennsylvania General Assembly voted on House Bill 1803. This critical piece of legislation restored funding to hospital-based burn centers that Governor Wolf vetoed in 2015. Not only do these hospital-based burn centers treat patients, they also treat our First-Responders who risk their lives to keep us safe.
This legislation passed the Pennsylvania General Assembly with bi-partisan support – State Representative Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre) and State Representative Scott Conklin (D-Centre) both voted yes.
But State Representative Mike Hanna voted NO!
His no vote is just another sad example of State Representative Mike Hanna putting politics over principles. Instead of doing what is right for our community, State Representative Mike Hanna voted to defend Governor Wolf’s misguided political agenda.
The people of Centre and Clinton counties are tired of this brand of leadership. Enough is enough! We need a State Representative who is beyond reproach. We need a State Representative who will always put principles over politics. We need a State Representative who will always do the right thing for the right reasons.
