Clinton County Relay for Life Meeting Jan. 20

relay-for-life-logoLOCK HAVEN – As many people kick off 2016 with new resolutions, Clinton County Relay for Life is kicking of the New Year with several new goals as wells.

“We are hoping to make this year’s Relay bigger and better than ever before,” said Brenda Ankney, public relations chair for the local relay. “We are looking to raise more money, host more caregivers, register more teams and of course see more survivors join us for our festivities.”

This year’s 2016 Clinton County Relay for Life kick off meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 20 at 7pm at the Son’s of Italy in Lock Haven.

Voices of Hope speakers, survivor Debbie Jackson and caregiver Marguerite Santorine, will share their very different journeys with cancer, hoping to inspire those in attendance.

“This year we are really hoping to make sure that the community is aware that Relay is open to the entire community. If are new to Relay and aren’t really sure what it’s all about we encourage you to attend a meeting to ask questions. Or, come to Relay and experience some of the day’s events. For some people who have just lost a loved one, they may not be ready for joining or forming a team just yet, but experiencing Relay on their own terms can be very cathartic.” Ankney said.

This year’s Relay for life will be held from May 20-21 at Riverview Park beginning at 4pm. Any survivor who is interested in registering can contact Christy Fisher at 570-367-1776.

If you are interested in registering a team you can do so at relay.acsevents.org.
