CM Girls Fall at DuBois 45-23
DUBOIS — The 2015-16 scholastic basketball season has just begun and the Central Mountain girls have already matched their win total, one, from a year ago.
The win came last Friday in the Lady Wildcat home court opener, a 42-21 rout of Bald Eagle Area. The first road game didn’t go as well, a 45-23 loss at DuBois (1-2). The Lady Beavers raced to a 22-3 lead and never looked back.
The Lady ‘Cats fell behind early, trailing DuBois 17-3 after one quarter but managed to outscore the Lady Beavers 10-7 in the second period though they were trailing the hosts 24-13 at the break.
The second half was more of the same as CM was only able to manage 5 points in each quarter that gave DuBois the 45-23 win.
Averie Pringle and Grayson McCloy set the pace for Central Mountain with 6 points each. Elaine Eckley had 4 points while Dayna Fourney added 3. Julia Novosat scored two points while Emily Strouse and Lydia McCaleb each contributed one point in the effort.
Central Mountain (1-1) will host Selinsgrove Wednesday night and travel to Shikellamy Saturday.
