Wildcats Battle Back to Tie Selinsgrove on the Road

SELINSGROVE – The Central Mountain boys soccer team battled to a 3-3 tie on the road at Selinsgrove Tuesday night, coming from behind three different times to secure the draw.

Selinsgrove struck first 20 minutes into the opening half, but the Wildcats answered back 10 minutes later. Mycah Carson played a well-placed ball into the box, where Cole Cooper calmly finished to make it 1-1.

The Seals regained the lead early in the second half, only for Central Mountain to respond again. Tim Brinker delivered a pinpoint corner kick that found Nolan Cross, who put it away to tie things at two.

Selinsgrove managed to pull ahead for a third time, and this one nearly stood as the game-winner. But the Wildcats refused to quit. With just six seconds left, Brinker worked the ball at the top of the box and unselfishly played Dylan Bechdel into space, who buried it far post to even the score at 3-3.

In overtime, Central Mountain created several chances but couldn’t find the finishing touch. Goalkeeper Jaggar Pardoe recorded seven saves to help preserve the tie.

With the result, the Wildcats move to 4-2-1 on the season. They will be back in action Thursday when they travel to Williamsport.
