MACKEYVILLE – The 2025 Clinton County Fair officially kicked off Saturday evening with the coronation of Sarah Lavallee as the 2025 Clinton County Fair Queen and Benelli Reynolds as First Alternate.

The Fair Queen Contest started with the introduction of contestants, #1 Benelli Reynolds, #2 Sarah Lavallee, and #3 Madalynn Bryant, and a formal introduction by the 2024 Queen Elizabeth Walker, daughter of James and Christa Walker.

Contestants were responsible for preparing and delivering a speech entitled “Why You Should Come To My Fair.”

Contestants were then taken to a back room while the impromptu question was asked of each contestant. The impromptu question was “what are two things that make the Clinton County Fair successful?”

Detailed responses for the above question and contestants speeches will be detailed and provided in a later story.

Gary Thull of Gary Thull Pools auctioned off benefit items to assist with funding the Fair Queen Program including a hat from the first Queen Contest in 1991.
