Obituary – Joanne Marie (Foley) Witchey

Joanne Marie (Foley) Witchey 89, of Renovo passed away on July 17, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Renovo on June 4, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Thomas I. and Dorothy (Cleveland) Foley. She was married on October 20, 1956 to Clarence “Bud” Witchey who preceded her in death on February 9, 1974.

Joanne was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph’s School in Renovo and worked at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann “Betsy” Campbell of Renovo; a son, Robert Witchey of Spring Mills; a sister, Jeanette Foley of State College; four grandchildren, Dennis Getz, Jr and wife, Marissa of North Bend, Brian Getz and wife Linda of Arkansas, Matthew Getz and wife, Laura of Danville, and Christine Witchey Croman and husband, Travis of Lewistown; nine great grandchildren who were the love of her life, Tyler, Emma, Everett, Madelyn, Gavin, Abigail, and Charlotte Getz, Everett Crater, and Taylor Croman; and many nieces and nephews.
Joanne was also preceded in death by three brothers, James, Francis, and Robert Foley.

Following Joanne’s wishes all services will be held privately at the family’s convenience. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Hyner.
