Obituary – Rev. Wayne H. Hixon

Rev. Wayne H. Hixon, 85, of Flemington was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born October 25, 1939 in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Walter Hixon and Virginia Shives Ostovitz.
He was a 1961 graduate of the former Eastern Bible Institute, now University of Valley Forge.
Rev. Hixon proudly served in the United States Army.
On June 30, 1962, he married the former Shirley Stewart, with whom he shared nearly 63 years of marriage.
A minister in the Assembly of God Church, Rev. Hixon served at the churches in Montoursville, Aliquippa and Lock Haven.
He was a member of Beech Creek Wesleyan Church.
In his younger years, Rev. Hixon enjoyed hunting. He was a talented woodworker who flipped numerous houses.
In addition to his wife, Shirely Hixon, he is survived by his children, David W. (Laurie) Hixon of Harrisburg and Rev. Tammy L. (Rev. Tony) Adamo of Slatington; half-brother, John Leonard Pearce of Maryland; half-sister, Joy Minns of Vermont; an uncle who was more like a brother, Lowell Hixon of Maryland; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 12PM at Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek. Private interment will be at Hayes-Fearon-Bossert Cemetery, Beech Creek.
Friends and family will be received at the church on Wednesday from 11AM until the time of the service.
