New Renovo Signs Welcome Visitors, Highlighting Community Pride and Progress
By Kevin Rauch
Whether you’re entering Renovo from RT 120 from the east or west, two beautiful new signs greet visitors, proudly letting them know that they have arrived at Renovo thanks to the Renovo Community Trade Association’s generous donation of signs to the Renovo Borough and its residents. With solar lights mounted on top, the signs are perhaps even more apparent after dark to those stopping by or just passing through.
The Renovo Community Trade Association- whose main goal is to increase the economic development in the community will be celebrating 80 years of doing just that next year. However, with a fresh group of new faces a more public image has taken place in recent months.
Recently the RCTA held a career day at Bucktail Area High School where they offered a myriad of suggestions to high school students on their future career options, with an emphasis on what opportunities could be available right here in their hometown.
Chairman Kyle Stewart wanted to install the Renovo signs at both ends of town as one of his goals has been to improve the image of coming into the community on both ends of towns. The result has had the town buzzing as appreciation for the new signs has been a constant.
RCTA’s Membership and Media chairperson Mary George Rhone designed the newly unveiled logo which is prominently displayed on the signs as well. Brownies Signs of Lock Haven made the signs and Smith Excavation cleared the land and installed them in both locations one near East Renovo and the other before the bridge on the west end of town.
The unveiling of the signs officially took place Monday at Noon as representatives from the area’s three biggest employers Berkshire Hathaway Energy, Bucktail Medical Center and Bucktail Area High School were all invited, along with representatives from the Renovo Borough joined Stewart and Vice Chair Angela Harding.
