WILDCATS CRUISE PAST MILLIONAIRES 72-5

WILLIAMSPORT-The Central Mountain Wildcats knew they were receiving eight forfeits before their dual meet with the Williamsport Millionaires and thus was going to be a win before the dual meet even started. The Wildcats then won four of the five contested bouts to win 72-5 and remain unbeaten at 9-0 on the season. 

The dual meet started ast 107 pounds and the Millionaires sent out their best wrestler, as sophomore Jordan Piselli ran his record to 21-6 on the season, by scoring an 18-2 technical fall over the Wildcats’ Cael Dorman to give the host a 5-0 lead. 

The lead was short lived, as the Wildcats’ Gavin Heverly (114), Collin Bauman (121) and Luke Garman (127) all received forfeit wins to put the Wildcat’s up 18-5. The Wildcat lead went to 24-5 at 133 as sophomore Aiden Kunes built up an 11-0 lead before pinning Alexander Wright in 1:55 of the first period. 

Patrick Tarantella got a forfeit win at 139 and then freshman Hayes Donley stepped in for the injured Dalton Perry at 145 and recorded a fall in just 14 seconds to bump the Wildcat lead to 36-5. Senior Luke Ananea stepped out at 152 and recorded a fall in just 21 seconds, making it a 42-5 Wildcat lead. 

Dakoda Packer received a forfeit win at 160 and then junior Dalton McDermott gave up the initial takedown at 172 pounds, but rallied to take a 8-3 lead and then record a fall in 38 seconds of the second period. The Wildcats led 54-5 and then Bryce Brungard (189), Kai Fravel (215) and Hayes Henry (285) received the three forfeits over the next three weights and set the final score at 72-5. 

The Wildcat Junior High posted a 49-26 win over the Little Millionaires, as Roman Weikel (80), Hunter Nace (101), Brayden Wolfgang (115), Kael Fredricks (122) and Hayden Hanley (130) all won by fall. Ashton Falls (138) won by tech fall, while Hayden Swortwood (250) won by decision and Jack Stout (87) walked off with a forfeit win. 

The next action for the Wildcats will be next Tuesday, January 21st, as they will the Golden Tigers of Hollidaysburg for a Seniors night match. On Thursday, January 23rd, the Wildcats will travel to Jersey Shore to take on the Bulldogs.
